aminotaur

Amino Acids are fast becoming a must have nutritional supplement when it comes to pre/post and especially intra workout! You are all aware that Amino Acids are the building blocks of muscle, with the BCAA’s and EAA’s being more well known for the use before/during and after your workouts! One that is not heard a lot about until recently is A-alpha-hydroxy-isocaproic acid or HICA as it is more commonly known as. It is the most recent Amino Acid that has new research surrounding it with regards to augmented muscle development and reduced muscle soreness.

During metabolism the Amino Acid L-Leucine is broken down into smaller components. These smaller components are known as ‘metabolites’ of the original compound. HICA is a metabolite of the Amino L-Leucine and is present when Leucine is burned within the muscle cells. HICA then signals the need to increase the muscles anti-catabolic processes. Athletes who supplemented with HICA compared to a placebo group added more lean mass and reduced their bodyfat levels more significantly. It was also noticed that they had reduced DOM’s following exercise whilst supplementing with HICA.

In summary HICA will allow you to benefit from increased recovery as well increased protein synthesis. Currently there are only a few products on the market that are using HICA within their ingredient profiles, Anabolic Designs AMINOTAUR is one of them! What is in AMINOTAUR?

How to use AMINOTAUR!

For best results mix one scoop with 200-300ml of water depending on taste preference. More scoops can be added dependant on physical activity. For intra-workout mix 1-3 scoops and sip throughout the workout AMINOTAUR can also be used as follows – Pre-workout – Mix 1-2 scoops and consume 10-20 minutes before working out. Post-workout – Mix 1-2 scoops and consume immediately after your workout. AMINOTAUR can also be taken throughout the day between meals and at wake up to help further with recovery.

Dose
Serving suggestions are a choice of preworkout 1 scoop, during a workout 1-3 scoops, post workout 1 scoop.
I chose 3 scoops in 1 litre of water

Mixability
Have to say the mixability of the product is fantastic, It took a few shakes to get it to 'mix' and if you didnt shake it between mouthfuls no sediment settling to the bottom which to be honest i actually expect with all bcaa based products.

Taste/Texture
Great texture, mixes easily. no shaker required simply add to bottle of water shake 4-5 times and done... illuminous pink water!!! The taste is hard to describe this one is fruit frenzy... the only way i can describe it is fairground cotton candy...

After 'effects'
Pump/ vascularity .. hard to tell as im too fat to see any veins however on deadlifts there was increased pump in forearms and lower back then usual..

Overall
First Impressions are quiet positive..it is a good product, maybe something i would use in future (will know more after full log). its relatively competative with other products like xtend as the serving size is alot smaller..

Additional Information / NotesHICA.... if anyone doesnt know what this ingredient is look it up.. its a big thing right now and i love the fact its in the Aminotaur
